This month, the Indian Pacific Food and Wine Train was named in Gourmet Traveller’s Top 100 Australian Culinary Experiences. This special coast-to-coast gastronomic journey ventures through a diverse range of Australia’s food and wine regions including the Blue Mountains food bowl, South Australia’s Barossa Valley wine region and through to the Avon Valley in Western Australia.
The Food & Wine Train proudly showcases the best of Australia’s unique produce, renowned wines and incredible food experiences.
In 2014, the inaugural Food & Wine Train featured guest chefs, including Masterchef’s Adam Liaw and Australian Indigenous chef Mark Olive, and master classes from leading Australian winemakers, cheesemakers and local produce suppliers.
The Indian Pacific Food & Wine Train will return on 2 September, 2015 to showcase the new journey experiences on the Indian Pacific. Exclusive to Platinum Service guests, the journey will feature the best of the Barossa and Nullarbor, along with masterclasses led by guest chefs, specialist wine tastings and interactive experiences such as cheesemaking demonstrations.
Due to popular demand, the 2015 Indian Pacific Food & Wine Train has now sold out.
