Attention all Australian pension and concession card holders*

Did you know that the Australian Government concessions* entitle you to a saving of up to 55% on Great Southern Rail’s services?

Under an arrangement with the Australian Federal Government, concession card holders are entitled to significant fare privileges aboard The Ghan, the Indian Pacific and The Overland.

By combining these Government concessions with Great Southern Rail discounts, Australian pension and concession card holders can now save up to 55% off the standard adult fare in Red Service day/nighter seats and up to 32% off the standard adult Gold Service Fare.

Concessions* are valid for holders of Australian Pension Concession Cards (PCC) or Commonwealth Seniors Health Card (CSHC) issued by Centrelink or the Department of Veterans Affairs.

*To receive concessional travel fares Great Southern Rail is required to confirm your eligibility for the concession electronically with Centrelink. If you do not want this to happen you will need to contact Centrelink to obtain a Pension Concession Letter as proof of your eligibility for the concession and provide this directly to Great Southern Rail before the concession can be given. All fares include a Fuel Price Surcharge. Prices are subject to change without notice. Savings vary between trains and service levels. This specific government concession funding is not applicable to the Great Southern Rail Seniors Concession Travel Card.
