The Indian Pacific experience was a gift from my wife to me to celebrate my 50th birthday and was fantastic, we traveled from Sydney on Sept.5th and arrived in Perth on the 8th. We met a variety of guests and enjoyed the company of all of them. Our cabin steward for the first part of the journey was Glen and he made the experience very special for us, he even advised the new crew of my birthday and left a note in my cabin wishing me a happy 50th. Many thanks to all the crew for a special and memorable trip.

Being our 55th wedding anniversary, The day commencing, travelling to Adelaide, with a special breakfast greeting from all train staff. Flowers, champagne and well wishes from other train passengers. Many Years ago we travelled on the Ghan from Alice to Adelaide with our 4 children. This was a most memorable experience for all. Our children met friends of similar ages and enjoyed their time together.
In September we rode the IP from Perth to Sydney to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. This was an exceptional journey for us. The accommodation, staff and the food all beyond our expectation. What a wonderful way to experience the vastness of this wonderful continent.
We are now planning our trip from Darwin. Looking forward to yet another unforgetable experience.

On the 19th of April 2009 my wife and I were surprised by a trip on the Indian Pacific, in our own private carriage (the chairmans carriage) on a trip from Adelaide to Perth. The quality of the train, its carriages, staff and all facilities were beyond belief. Our personal assistant, Penny, was a credit to the GSR, and was so dedicated to her job, it was remarkable. My wife and I will never forget this wonderful trip, in such a private fashion, on this fantastic train.Thanks Penny.

What a fantastic experience! We had waited for a long time to experience the Indian Pacific from Perth across to Sydney, we met some really interesting people and saw just how vast Australia really is. The staff (Roger, Brendan and Kerri) were brilliant at there jobs and made us all feel welcome and comfortable, for anyone thinking about doing the trip...Go for it, it's awesome.

I am an avid train fan. It has been my dream to travel on the Indian Pacific for about 30 years. It finally happened when my wife and I travelled from Sydney to Perth between 5 to 8 April, 2008. The trip exceeded my wildest dreams. Comfort in Gold Kangaroo is second to none and the level of service from the crew together with the food and souvenirs was fabulous. To witness the vastness of our land is terrific. We intend to do it again, this time both ways; within the next 3 years if not sooner. Anyone who has been thinking about this trip should think no more, just do it, you'll be really impressed.
