DAY 1: SATURDAY Darwin: Make your own way to Darwin and check in to Mantra on the Esplanade, your base for the next four nights.
DAY 2: SUNDAY Crocs, Sights & Indigenous Cruise: Make your own way to centrally located Crocosaurus Cove and enter the world of the awesome Saltwater Crocodile, with some of the largest held in captivity. Get up close and personal, watch the jumping croc feeding and walk through the air-conditioned reptile display. Enjoy a relaxing lunch at the locals’ favourite, the Tap Bar, before joining the most comprehensive Darwin City tour. See the Chinese Temple and the lush Botanic Gardens. Tour the historic sites including the East Point Military Precinct. See the Stokes Hill Wharf area and the Mooring Basin. There is also time to explore the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, whose collections encompass Aboriginal art, visual arts and Northern Territory history and natural sciences. Board your Sunset Dreaming boat where you will be welcomed by a Traditional Owner, who will provide an interactive cultural experience. Cruise out to a sand bar or beach then try your hand at spear throwing, playing a didgeridoo and creating traditional Aboriginal craft items. (BL)
DAY 3: MONDAY Litchfield Waterfalls: This waterfall wonderland is less than two hours from Darwin. View Florence Falls from a high vantage point then make your way down the stairs to the plunge pool. Move on to the magnificent water cascades of Tolmer and Wangi Falls where you can take in the scenery or enjoy a leisurely swim. The guided walks through the bush and monsoon vine forest areas are as interesting as they are beautiful. (BL)
DAY 4: TUESDAY Darwin: Today is free for you to explore at your own pace. (B)
DAY 5: WEDNESDAY The Ghan: Join The Ghan and travel south to Katherine where you can enjoy a Whistle Stop Tour (additional cost) at Katherine Gorge. Reboard the train for your overnight journey to Alice Springs. (BLD)
DAY 6: THURSDAY Alice Springs: After arriving in Alice Springs, you might like to join a Whistle Stop Tour (additional cost) before reboarding the train as you continue your journey south overnight. (BLD)
DAY 7: FRIDAY Adelaide: Enjoy breakfast onboard before arriving in Adelaide. (B)
