Board The Overland daylight service this morning. Enjoy the scenery as the train winds its way through the Adelaide Hills, across the Murray River, passing The Grampians before arriving in Melbourne early evening. Make your own way to Batman’s Hill on Collins, your base for the next three nights.

Day 2: Thursday
Melbourne Retail Therapy

Today is a fun and relaxed day of discount retail therapy. Your tour host will help you to discover some of Melbourne’s best discount outlets and hard-to-find warehouse sales. The itinerary will change based on availability and sales in various shops but may include women’s fashion, shoes, handbags, men’s and kid’s clothing, homewares, luggage, books, electrical goods, leather goods and much more. Sit back and relax as you enjoy your day of shopping without the worry of carrying bags. (B)

Melbourne Lanes and Arcades

As the often-suggested style capital of Australia, Melbourne has many hidden secrets that can be difficult to discover. Today your three hour walking tour, led by fashion devotee Fiona Sweetman, will introduce you to some of the best salon, studio and clothing hidden hotspots as well as historical, architectural and cultural insights – making you a local before lunchtime! Uncover well-concealed lofts and basements brimming with ‘trade secrets’ before winding down with a glass of wine over a gourmet lunch. (BL)
