Day 1 (Thurs)

Alice Springs

This afternoon, check in to your overnight accommodation, The Chifley Alice Springs Resort.

Day 2 (Fri)

Alice Springs to Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (The Olgas)

After breakfast, join your coach transfer to Ayers Rock Resort. In the afternoon enjoy a leisurely drive to Kata Tjuta, along the way your guide will explain the geological and cultural history of the area. Admire the view of the central valley of Kata Tjuta while you take in a magnificent outback sunset with gourmet canapés and Australian wine. (B,D)

Day 3 (Sat)

Kata Tjuta and Uluru

Rise early and travel to the Uluru sunrise viewing area to watch the first rays of sun as they cast striking colours over ‘The Rock’. Travel to Kata Tjuta, and explore Walpa Gorge and the unusual rock formations. Back at Uluru, be acquainted with your guide for the afternoon. Continue to the Kuniya Walk where your guide will escort you to the beautiful Mutitjulu Waterhole. After sunset, transfer to the barbecue site to enjoy a true outback experience at the Aussie barbecue. Your guide will conduct a tour of the night sky, pointing out constellations and explaining Aboriginal stories that relate to the stars.(D)

Day 4 (Sun)

Kings Canyon to Alice Springs

An early start from Ayers Rock Resort will be rewarded with a magnificent desert sunrise en route to Kings Canyon. After stopping at Kings Creek Station for breakfast, make the rocky climb to the Canyon rim for marvellous views of Watarrka National Park. Alternatively, you may wish to explore the boulder-strewn Canyon floor (an easier, shaded walk). Stop at Kings Canyon Resort to purchase lunch (own expense) before travelling to Alice Springs. (B)

Day 5 (Mon)

The Ghan, Alice Springs

This morning after breakfast, check out of your hotel and spend the day sightseeing in Alice Springs. Late in the afternoon join your transfer to Alice Springs Rail Terminal. Board The Ghan and settle into the comforts of your cabin. Enjoy a three course dinner in the Queen Adelaide Restaurant and mingle in the Outback Explorer Lounge, as you travel north towards Darwin. Day 6 (Tue)

The Ghan, Katherine and Darwin

Enjoy breakfast as the train rolls towards Katherine. If you are up early enough, you may even witness the sun rise. Arrive into Katherine where you can enjoy an Off Train Excursion to Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge, one of the highlights of your journey. The Ghan continues onto Darwin, arriving in the early evening after which you will be transferred to the city centre. (B,L)

Day 7 (Wed)


This morning after breakfast, check out of your hotel and your package concludes. (B)
