Day 1 (Tue)


This afternoon, check in to your overnight accommodation, Vibe Darwin Waterfront Hotel.

Day 2 (Wed)

The Ghan, Darwin and Katherine

After being transferred from the city centre to the Darwin Rail Terminal, your journey aboard The Ghan begins. Friendly staff will lead you to your private cabin where you can take your time settling in and exploring the amenities as the view outside your window begins its smooth and spectacular transformation. After a light lunch in the Queen Adelaide Restaurant, arrive in Katherine. Enjoy an Off Train Excursion to Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge, one of the highlights of your journey, before continuing south to Alice Springs. (B,L,D)

Day 3 (Thur)

The Ghan, Alice Springs

This morning after breakfast, The Ghan arrives into Alice Springs. You will then be transferred to your accommodation, Lasseters Hotel, and the afternoon is yours at leisure to explore the delights of this outback city. (B)

Day 4 (Fri)

Alice Springs to Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (The Olgas)

Start your three day adventure of Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon. Travel through the West MacDonnell and James Ranges. Visit a camel farm for an optional camel ride on these ‘ships of the desert’ (own expense) and later stop to view majestic Atila (Mt Conner), before arriving at Ayers Rock Resort. This afternoon, travel to the mystical domes of Kata Tjuta and walk through Walpa Gorge, before returning to Uluru in time for sunset, including nibbles and a glass of wine.

Day 5 (Sat)

Uluru and Kings Canyon

It’s an early start this morning to view sunrise over Uluru, before joining a guided base walk. Travel to the beautiful Mutitjulu Waterhole, and visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, to learn about Aboriginal culture and see local artwork. This afternoon travel to Kings Canyon.

Day 6 (Sun)

Kings Canyon to Alice Springs

Today join a guided climb to the rim of Kings Canyon for marvellous views of Watarrka National Park (for those with a good level of fitness). An easier walk along the boulder-strewn Canyon floor is also available. Enjoy lunch at Kings Creek Station (own expense) before travelling to Alice Springs and being transferred to your accommodation, Lasseters Hotel.

Day 7 (Mon)

Alice Springs

This morning after breakfast, check out of your hotel. (B)
