Named after the monarch who was the consort of King William IV in 1836 when South Australia was settled. The new Governor, Captain John Hindmarsh, requested permission to name the new capital city after King William but the King suggested it be named after the Queen.

The Queen Adelaide Restaurant is open to all Platinum and Gold Service guests for breakfast, two-course lunch and three-course dinner.
